About the Organization
Three generations ago, Frederick H. Prince and his wife Abbie Norman Prince established a philanthropic legacy by creating the Prince Charitable Trusts (PCT). Over time, their heirs have created giving programs in cities where the Prince family has deep and long-standing ties: Chicago, IL, Washington, DC, and Newport, Rhode Island.
PCT is a family foundation that believes in the capacity of non-profit organizations to change lives, to improve communities, and to advance ideas. In standing with the organizations PCT funds, PCT strives to add muscle to their might with operating, project, and capacity-building grants and special awards for their often unique and unheralded work.
The Prince Charitable Trusts Chicago Program supports the arts, environmental justice, and sports-based youth development. Grants are awarded during two grant cycles per year.

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Associate, as a full-time non-exempt employee, is an integral part of the Program Team. This role will support the Chicago arts and environmental justice grantmaking programs, including a participatory grantmaking component, and the sports-based youth development program. The Chicago grantmaking portfolio consists of approximately 75 grantees receiving $2.4 million annually.
In addition, the Program Associate will work with the team to develop and implement a new organization-wide communications program focused on uplifting the work of our grantee partners, contributing to the positive narrative about the field, and enabling collaboration. The successful candidate will show sustained commitment to Prince Charitable Trusts’ mission, values, and approach.
Prince Charitable Trusts maintains a collaborative culture across its programs and geographies. The Program Associate will be an active part of the Program Team, taking initiative independently, providing key programmatic and occasional administrative support. The Program Team includes 4 staff: two located in Washington, D.C. and two in Chicago. This is a hybrid position based in Chicago, with occasional travel to Washington, DC and Newport, RI.
