Avi Bowie, LCSW (they/them/he/his)
Avi is a proud Chicago native with over 15 years of experience in social justice services. Avi’s professional expertise lies in non-profit management, program development and evaluation, youth trauma, racial justice and curriculum development.
At Morten Group, Avi generates customized training curriculums for the Equity and Inclusion Institute, as well as assisting in interview and focus group facilitation for organizational assessment processes.
Avi received their B.A. from Hampshire College, where they studied Medical Anthropology and received a Summer of Social Change Grant to develop a peer-led sexual health education program for adolescents in Springfield, MA, and their M.S.W. from Columbia University’s School of Social Work in New York City.
We asked Avi “What is one thing you wish would come back into fashion?” They said, “It’s not really a fashion but I wish dressing up more regularly was something people did. There is a dignity and joy in presenting one’s self in a way that feels uplifted (which can look so many different ways). This has nothing to do with money and everything to do with an ability and a freedom to claim your worth no matter the circumstances.”
